Happy Birthday Moon Babies! Sun in Cancer thru 7/23; Venus in Cancer 7/5-28; NewMoon Solar Eclipse in Cancer 7/1, 3:53 a.m.; Full Moon in Capricorn 7/15, 1:40 a.m.

This month’s SexyScopes takes a look at your success potential using numerology. Authors, you may want to try this when you’re choosing a character’s name. I hope you have fun with it!

If you always seem to be “a day late and a dollar short”, perhaps it’s your name rather than luck that’s to blame. Numerology is the metaphysical study of numbers to identify innate personality traits and life paths, as well as to gain insight into the future. By converting the letters of your name to numbers, numerology can also give an indication of your potential for success.

For this exercise, use whatever name you most commonly go by, as opposed to your birth name. Using the following conversions, exchange each letter for its corresponding number:

A,J,S=1; B,K,T=2; C,L,U=3; D,M,V=4; E,N,W=5; F,O,X=6; G,P,Y=7; H,Q,Z=8; I,R=9

Add all the numbers together, then sum up the individual digits in that total, and so on, until the result is a single digit, which is the number value of the name . For example:

     ANGELINA JOLIE  =  1+5+7+5+3+9+5+1+1+6+3+9+5  =  60; then 6+0  =  6

     JANE DOE  =  1+1+5+5+4+6+5 = 27; then 2+7  =  9

Once you have the number value of your name, compare it to its “potential for success” definition below.

1 – You’re always ready to start something new. With discipline, this is the number of a leader. Without discipline, however, this could prevent you from ever sticking with something long enough to be successful.

2 – Achieving success will always be complicated by your divided loyalties or interests in two different goals. The good news is that it is very possible for you to achieve a double success with the right game plan or the right partner.

3 – You perceive success in terms of pleasure, adventure and satisfaction rather than material measurements. Perhaps because you aren’t striving for it, your success often happens because of a lucky break or being in the right place at the right time.

4 – Because you have the potential to be a workaholic, you also have the potential to be successful. Unfortunately, every time you reach a goal, you set a higher one, thus never        quite achieving success in your own mind.

5 – You need a lot of diversity in your work. It is nearly impossible for you to sit still long enough to set a goal let alone reach it. If only you could decide what you want to do when you grow up…

6 – You are not driven by a desire for fame, fortune, or power. You feel successful when you are content and your family is safe, secure, and comfortable. As typified by Angelina Jolie, this number does not mean fame and fortune are impossible, only that family will always come first.

7 – Inner turmoil, bouts of depression, and chaos created by others will keep you constantly striving for, but never quite grasping the proverbial brass ring. At best, you have a difficult time settling for what others would be happy to achieve. Strengthening your spiritual connections is the answer to this dilemma.

8 – Here is success and rewards defined in a single number.  Whatever you sow, so shall you reap…tenfold.

9 – As typified by the example of Jane Doe, this number represents anonymity and the absence of true identity. Excellent for an undercover career. It speaks more of completions and endings than achievements.

If you’re not happy with the success potential your current name represents, you can easily change it by altering the spelling, using initials, or adding or dropping your middle name. Whatever you do, however, the change must become the name you always use to make a difference.

Forgot to add – After writing this post I decided to see how well I had selected names for my characters in my latest release, ZENITH RISING. Noah Nash equals 8 and, as a bestselling horror novelist, he is definitely rewarded financially for his work, but his efforts to make Maggie his own reap rewards as well. Maggie Harrison, on the other hand, comes to 9, and there is no question that by the end of the book, what she knew of her life is a closed chapter. Once she changes her name to Maggie Nash, her name number changes to a 3, lucky, filled with fun and pleasure. Perfect!
