And the second round finalists are…

1 Feb

To start, I want to sent out a big, huge thank you and congrats to all our 1st round finalists!

*tosses confetti*

Your chapters blew me away. šŸ™‚ I can’t imagine how Grace could narrow the field down…and this time to only three! Sheesh! But, alas, she has.

Without further delay, the Passionate Reads Pitch Contest second-round finalists (in no particular order) are…

Beyond PrudenceĀ by Anya Richards

Project NSAĀ by Alexa Day

Dark StarĀ by Callie Russell

Project NSA also wonĀ our reader’s choice vote, so only these three finalists will be moving on to the final round.

Congrats to all our finalists! Ā For those who didn’t make the cut, we wish you all the best in your publishingĀ endeavors. This is such a subjective industry, so keep at it! And for those of you whoĀ missed Grace’s comment yesterday, she said she *might* be asking for anĀ additionalĀ partial or two that didn’t make it through so watch those inboxes just in case!

If your manuscript finaled, congrats! Please send your 1st three chapters (.doc or .rtf file/no more than 15,000 words) to passionatereads (at) gmail . com by midnight February 6. (If manuscripts are not received by then, you will be disqualified from the contest.) Winners will be announced Monday February 21st.

Thanks again to everyone.
~Brandi Evans & the rest of the Passionate Reads Bunch

*Note: there is NO readers choiceĀ votingĀ this round. Sorry… šŸ˜¦

Well congrats to Anya, Alexa, and Callie, enjoyed your chapters but sure would love to have read more by Lori too – Loved Sacking Austen. Hope all the writers continue on and not give up the dream – all worked so very hard!

Thank you! *scurries off with the metaphorical polish and a dazed expression*

Congratulations to all the finalists, and thank you to everyone who participated. For those of you sending in a partial, please also include a synopsis if you have one prepared. As Brandi said, some of you may hear from me this week with a request to see more. It was difficult to only choose three. Best of luck to all of you who did not place in the finals. Thank you for sharing your work with me.

I better get to polishing, too …

Congratulations to all the finalists! And thank you Grace, for all your hard work and time. I’m judging an ebook contest right now and I read until my eyes go blurry. Too bad there isn’t an eye massage we could spring for together for you. Maybe a butt massage, for all the time you spent in the chair? I suppose the hubby would oppose, unless he’s the one to give it šŸ™‚

LOL. Hubby would probably be thankful for the task to be delegated šŸ™‚ I beg for back rubs frequently.

    Many thanks to all!

Congratulations to the finalists! I’m not sure how Grcae managed to narrow the field either. Congrats also to everyone who entered. It’s a huge step to share your work with others. It takes a lot of courage and sometimes a leap of faith. We’re all honored here that you did so with us. Best wishes to all those who entered!!
